Duke University field hockey head coach Beth Bozman will be honored as the Woman of the Year by the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women on Feb. 8. The NJAIAW presents the award annually to professional women who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of girls and women in sports and athletics.

"I am very honored and humbled to receive this type of recognition," said Bozman. "I spent so many great years in New Jersey and it is wonderful to think that I was able to contribute in a positive way to the athletes of that state."

In 2003, Bozman guided Duke to its best season ever with a 20-4 record and the school's first NCAA Championship game appearance. The 17-year coaching veteran took over the Blue Devil program in 2003, after a highly successful 15-year stint at the helm of the Princeton field hockey program. During her tenure with the Tigers, Bozman compiled a 188-73-6 (.720) record and led Princeton to eight NCAA Tournaments with four Final Four appearances.
