  • Look back at the 2002 Field Hockey Championships

    DURHAM, N.C. -- In the title game of the 2002 Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship, No. 1 seeded Wake Forest defeated No. 3 seeded Maryland 4-0 at Williams Field on the Duke University campus in Durham, N.C.

    At halftime, Wake Forest led 1-0 on Kelly Dostal's goal. In the second half of game, the Deacons scored three more goals, two by Heather Aughinbaugh and one by Maeke Boreel, en route to winning the Championship game 4-0.

    Wake Forest improves its record to 16-2 overall in taking its first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship.
