Terps Finish First Perfect Season
The No. 1-ranked Maryland field hockey team claimed the first 18-0 regular season record in program history Friday night in a 6-2 win over No. 12 Stanford. In a night celebrating the seven seniors in one the most successful classes in program history, the Terps saw production from nearly every corner of the field.
In the win, junior Katie O'Donnell became the all-time career points leader at Maryland with 193. She is still second in all-time assists with 64. Her two-goal, one-assist performance was one of many great ones from the Terrapins Friday evening.
Thomas struck first for the Terps with her goal seven minutes in off a penalty corner setup from Pappas and O'Donnell. Seven minutes later, Stanford's Becky Dru tied up the game off of another penalty corner.
