No. 9 Boston College Field Hockey Cruises Past Harvard, 9-1 CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team was hitting on all cylinders on Wednesday night as it picked up a key non-conference win over Harvard, 9-1, on a rainy evening at Newton Campus Field. The win improves the Eagles to 13-4 for the season, while the loss drops Harvard to 5-9. This win gives BC another season sweep of Massachusetts field hockey schools. The last time the Eagles lost to a school from the Bay State was September 2, 2005. Boston College will finish the 2009 season with a 7-1 home record. Its only loss was to Maryland, which is the number one team in the country. The 7-1 record is the best home record by a BC field hockey team since the 1998 team that went 9-1. Boston College opened up the scoring in the ninth minute of the game on Chelsey Feole's first goal of the night. The Eagles took a 2-0 lead just more than a minute later as Courtney Tavener scored a goal off a pass from Emily Kozniuk.
