Wake Forest 3, Boston College 2

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The third-ranked Wake Forest women's field hockey team closed out its regular season with a 3-2 victory over No. 12 Boston College in an Atlantic Coast Conference game on Sunday afternoon on Senior Day. The Demon Deacons ended the regular season with a 12-4 overall record and a 3-2 mark in the ACC, while the Eagles fell to 12-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Prior to the game, Wake Forest recognized its two seniors - Chelsea Cipriani and Lauren Love.

Wake Forest immediately took possession and opened the game with several consecutive shots, but Eagle goalkeeper Julia Berkowitz made four saves to keep the score knotted at zero.

But the Demon Deacons kept pushing and took advantage of its first penalty corner. After a shot by Minou Gimbrere was blocked, Emily Cummings tapped the ball over to Melissa Martin who knocked in the first goal at the 13:44 mark for her seventh goal this season.
