No. 10 Boston College Uses Strong Second Half To Defeat No. 19 Providence 4-2

The Boston College field hockey team used three second half goals to defeat in-region rival Providence College 4-2 on a Monday night at Newton Campus Field.

Providence was the sharper team for most of the first half as it controlled possession time, and continuously put pressure on Boston College goalie Kristine Stigas. Stigas made four saves in the first half to keep the Friars off the scoreboard.

Boston College got its offense going just four minutes before halftime as Courtney Tavener scored an unassisted goal to give BC a 1-0.
