CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior Marian Dickinson netted two goals and freshman Susan Ferger added one tally, as the 15th-ranked Blue Devil field hockey team notched its first ACC victory with a 3-2 win over 10th-ranked Boston College on Friday night in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Blue Devils improve to 6-5 (1-2 ACC), while the Eagles fall to 7-3 (1-2 ACC). Duke came out strong, as Ferger netted her fourth goal of the season two minutes into the contest to give the Blue Devils a quick 1-0 lead. Dickinson then found the net at the 23-minute mark on a pass from freshman Sarah Schoffstall to increase Duke's advantage to 2-0. The Eagles' Bob Dirks got BC on the board six and a half minutes later, to make the score 2-1, an advantage Duke would carry into the halftime break. Duke held a 9-6 shot advantage in the initial stanza, as both squads tallied two penalty corners. Blue Devil senior goalie Caitlin Williams was credited with two saves while Eagle keeper Julia Berkowitz made four stops.
