WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Freshman midfielder Caroline Walter (Reilingen, Germany) scored with 5:45 remaining in the second half, leading No. 10 Maryland (7-2, 1-0 ACC) to a 1-0 win over Wake Forest (4-5, 0-1 ACC) today in Winston-Salem. Walter's goal was assisted by freshman midfielder Megan Kelly (Gaithersburg, Md.).

Sophomore goalie Angela Platt (Coleraine, Northern Ireland) recorded her second solo shutout of the season, making nine saves.

Maryland's next game is at No. 5 Princeton on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
