Sept. 12, 2007 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - In front of a home crowd, fifth-ranked Wake Forest toppled Radford, 6-1, on Saturday night in its home opener at Kentner Stadium. The Demon Deacons amassed four goals in the first period and added two more before the game ended. With the win, Wake improved to 3-2 on the season, while Radford dropped to 2-4. Radford came out strong to start the game as it took the first shot on frame, but goalkeeper Crystal Duffield was there to make the save. Minutes later, Wake attacked the Radford defense as Chelsea Cipriani and Kim Romansky took shots, but Highlander goalkeeper Jennifer Wisniewski along with the defense stopped any shots from hitting the back of the net. Finally, Wake Forest took a 1-0 lead at the 10:41 mark when Cipriani scored off of an Emily Cummings pass. The Deacs received three more goals before the first 35 minutes would end - two of them off of penalty corners. +Read More
