Sept. 7, 2007 Boston College 2, Boston University 1 CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Boston College junior back Kelley Smith scored on the Eagles' final corner to eek out a 2-1 win over No. 17 Boston University on Friday, Sept. 7. This was the team's fourth straight win after dropping the season-opener. The two teams battled back and forth the entire first half, without scoring for the first 34 minutes. BC recorded two shots to BU's nine. With seconds left on the clock, the Terriers were awarded a penalty corner. With no time left, they got a shot off, but junior goalkeeper Julia Berkowitz made a diving save. They were awarded a second corner, which they capitalized on when Pam Spuehler dished to Haley Robinson for the first goal of the game. The second half was much like the first, as the two teams kept it out of the each other's circles. With 8:45 left in the game and the Eagles down by one, Berkowitz came out of the goal and saved a Terrier breakaway with a diving stick stop.
In the 66th minute, sophomore Chelsey Feole gained the ball and on a break away and avoiding oncoming goalie Amanda Smith, tied the score at 1-1. Feole's goal, a hard shot to the bottom left corner of the net, was her sixth on the season.
