Stanford, Calif. -- No. 9 Boston College rebounded from Saturday's loss by defeating Pacific 3-1 in Stanford, Calif., on Sunday, Aug. 26. The win evens BC's record at 1-1, while making their all-time series record against Pacific 5-0.

The Eagles took an early lead when sophomore forward Chelsey Feole scored an unassisted goal 3:25 into the game. The attack did not let up as junior forward Kathleen Murphy netted a second goal only six minutes later. Senior forward Crystal Frates had the assist.

Pacific defender Elle Busch cut the lead in half when she scored on a penalty corner at 12:25.

The Eagles struck again when junior forward Bob Dirks dished to Frates for the team's third goal with 7:27 left to play in the half. BC had out-shot the Tigers 15-3 at the end of one.

The three goals in the first half were enough to get the win, as neither team scored in the second half.

The Eagles tallied 18 shots in the contest, making it the second day of 15 or more shots in a game. Dirks led the team with four and Frates was second with three. Junior goalkeeper Julia Berkowitz had six saves on the day.

BC will look to notch another win against Quinnipiac in their home-opener on Friday, Aug. 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newton Campus Field Hockey Complex.
