Hingle Earns Second-Team All-America Honors

DURHAM, N.C. - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced the Division I All-America Rowing Team Selections for 2001 on Tuesday. Athletes were chosen from the five All-Region 1st Teams selected in May. Duke's Joanna Hingle was nominated for second-team honors. Hingle was one of six representatives from the ACC and the only Blue Devil to be honored.

These student-athletes were chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Varsity Eight Record (all nominees are required to have raced in the Varsity Eight a minimum of 75% of the boats total races up to May 1, 2001)
  • Strength of Schedule
  • Nomination Rank (the rank order of nominees as chosen by the nominating coach)
  • Coach's comments
  • 2K erg score
  • Only those student-athletes selected to the All-Region 1st teams will be eligible for All-America honors.
