INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Three members of the University of Virginia women's rowing team have earned 2005 All-America honors from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA). Seniors Margaret Matia (Burke, Va.) and Carolyn McMillan (Welland, Ontario) earned first-team All-America honors, and senior coxswain Launa Forehand (New Market, Va.) is a second-team All-America selection.

It is the first time that each of them has earned All-America recognition. All three earned first-team All-South honors and All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors earlier this season.

Virginia finished second in the team competition at last weekend's (May 27-29) NCAA Women's Rowing Championships in Rancho Cordova, Calif. The Cavaliers won NCAA Championships in the varsity four and second varsity eight competitions, and UVa's varsity eight crew finished fourth. It is Virginia's highest finish in the team competition at the NCAA Championshps since finishing second in 1999.

UVa is one of just four schools to compete in each of the nine NCAA Women's Rowing Championships.
