Virginia's Varsity Eight Moves Up To Ninth In Rankings
May 6, 2005 INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Virginia moved up to ninth in this week's USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. UVa was ranked 10th last week. Princeton is ranked first in the poll followed by California-Berkeley, Michigan State, Ohio State, Harvard, Yale, Michigan, Brown, Virginia and Stanford. Virginia's varsity eight lost to Princeton by just 2.3 seconds on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J., on April 30. The UVa women's rowing team participates in the South/Central regional competition May 14-15 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
