Duke Rowing Set To Compete Against Miami On Indian Creek

The Duke rowing team travels to Coral Gables, Fla. on Friday, April 28 to battle Miami in a series of races. The competition begins at 7:15 a.m. with the two programs squaring off in Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Novice 8+, Varsity 4+ and Novice 4+ races in a 2,000 meter course set on the waters of Indian Creek at Miami Beach.

In the most recent South Region Rankings, the Blue Devils are ranked fifth in the Second Varsity 8+ behind No. 1 Virginia, Tennessee, Clemson and Texas. The Hurricanes are ranked sixth in the Varsity 4+ behind No. 1 Virginia, Clemson, Texas, Tennessee and Louisville.

At the ACC Championships held on April 23, the Blue Devils edged the Hurricanes by .9 tenths of a second in the Varsity 8+ and by 3.5 seconds in the Second Varsity 8+. Miami finished ahead of Duke in the Novice 8+ and the Varsity 4+ at the ACC Championships.
