Virginia Hosts Inaugural ACC Women's Rowing Championships On April 29

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. -The University of Virginia hosts the first Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Rowing Championships on Saturday, April 29, at Lake Monticello. Clemson, Duke, North Carolina and Virginia will participate in the ACC Championships. Crews will compete in the second varsity four, the first varsity four, the second varsity eight and the first varsity eight. Virginia is the top-seed in all four competitions. In the first varsity eight, UVa is seeded number one, Clemson is the second seed, North Carolina is seeded third and Duke is the fourth seed. Virginia's first varsity eight is currently ranked fourth in the nation. In the second varsity eight, Virginia is seeded number one, Clemson is the second seed, North Carolina is seeded third and Duke is the fourth seed. In the first varsity four, UVa is seeded number one, Clemson is the second seed, Duke is seeded third and North Carolina is the fourth seed. In the second varsity four, Virginia is seeded number one, Clemson is the second seed, Duke is seeded third and North Carolina is the fourth seed. "We're delighted to host the inaugural Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Rowing Championships," said UVa head coach Kevin Sauer. "This is an important step for women's rowing regionally and in the ACC." Preliminary competition is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the finals scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
