Women's Rowing Garners ECAC Crew of the Week Honors

The women's rowing team's varsity eight crew earned Metro Crew of the Week honors from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for its resilient victory over Rhode Island on Saturday, April 15. BC's varsity eight crew posted a first-place time of 7 minutes 21.6 seconds on Boston's Charles River.

After losing to Rhode Island in the Knecht Cup on Sunday, April 9, the Eagles defeated the Rams by over one length on Boston's Charles River the following Saturday. Rhode Island clocked in at 7:26.1, and Harvard-Radcliffe's lightweight crew finished the race in 7:31.2.

BC's varsity eight lineup consisted of coxswain Kate Donovan, Elizabeth Millar, Claire Arpin, Bridget Regan, Lauren Carey, Angelique Hrycko, Carolyn Lynch, Emily Burke and Patton Hindle.

Princeton's men's varsity eight crew earned EARC Crew of the Week honors after winning the Compton Cup in Cambridge, Mass., on Saturday for the first time since 1957. The top-ranked Tigers topped fourth-ranked Harvard and MIT to pick up their first Compton Cup since 2001 and 14th cup overall.

Darmouth's women's varsity eight crew was named the EAWRC Crew of the Week. For the first time since 1998, Dartmouth's women's varsity eight defeated Radcliffe in come-from-behind fashion to claim the O'Leary Cup.

Trinity's men's and women's varsity eight crews captured Co-ECAC/NIRC Crew of the Week accolades. Both crews each won their varsity races against several rival colleges on Saturday, April 15 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

Boston College returns to action on Saturday, April 22, when they race in the ACC Championships on Lake Hartwell, in Clemson, S.C.
