Duke Rowing Team Set To Compete At ACC Championships On Saturday
April 18, 2003 The Duke University rowing team travels to Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday, April 19 to compete in the 2003 ACC Championships. The event, which takes place on Lake Montecello, features races in the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Novice Eight. The Blue Devils are ranked 21st nationally and fourth in the South in the latest women's rowing poll. The Varsity Eight ranks fourth in the region with the Second Varsity eight ranking fifth in the South. The Blue Devil Varsity Four is rated the South's second best crew. In the 2002 championship, Duke recorded its highest finish at second place with 26 points, followed by Clemson (24) and North Carolina (10). Head coach Robyn Horner was named the ACC Coach of the Year, while Katie Lakin and Joanna Hingle received All-ACC honors.
