Blue Devil Crews Fall To Ohio State And Michigan At ACC/Big Ten Double Duals In Columbus

The Duke University rowing team competed against Ohio State and Michigan on Saturday, April 11 in Columbus, Ohio. The Blue Devils had several strong racing performances but came up short in the ACC/Big Ten Double Duals. In the morning session, Duke dropped five races to host Ohio State. The Blue Devil Varsity 8+ had a strong showing completing the course in a time of 6:35.0, just 5.5 seconds behind the Buckeyes. Against Michigan in the afternoon all five of the Duke crews trimmed seconds off of their morning times in losing several close races to the Wolverines. Duke's Second Varsity 4+ cut just over 12 seconds off its morning time, completing the course in 7:38.8, just .9 seconds behind Michigan. The First Novice 8+ also dropped a close race with the Michigan crew taking the race 6:55.5 to Duke's 6:56.4. The Blue Devil rowing team returns to action on Saturday, April 19 at the ACC Championship which are being held on Lake Monticello in Charlottesville, Virginia.
