GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Marissa Coleman and Virginia Tech's Andrea Barbour were named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week after both averaged over 20 points and earned all-tourney accolades in a pair of team victories for their respective squads. Coleman helped Maryland win the Terrapin Classic crown, while Barbour's effort led Virginia Tech to the Hokie Invitational title, in addition to Most Valuable Player recognition.

Coleman had an outstanding weekend, putting her versatility on display. The junior from Cheltenham, Md., helped the 5th-ranked Terps pick up two wins en route to claiming the Terrapin Classic crown. Coleman averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and shot better than 83 percent from three-point range, collecting All-Tournament honors.

In the win over Richmond, Coleman had 18 first-half points and finished with 23 for the game, while also grabbing 10 rebounds for her team-leading sixth double-double of the season. She was 6-for-8 from the floor, including 4-for-5 from three-point range, and missed just one free throw in eight trips to the line. In the closing game of the tournament, Coleman helped Maryland set the ACC record for threes in a game, knocking down six of the team's league-record 17 treys. The six threes also set the Comcast Center record and was also a career high. Coleman filled the box score, grabbing eight rebounds, while dishing out six assists and had a steal and a block.

Coleman is averaging 16.5 points per game, which is second on the team, and is tied for the team-high in rebounding with an average 8.1 boards per game. After going 10-for-12 from three-point range over the weekend, she is shooting 43.6 percent on the season from the long range.

Barbour was named the Hokie Hardwood Classic MVP after scoring 25 in the title game win over East Carolina. The Virginia Tech guard from Charlottesville, Va., tied the tournament single-game record with 11 field goals against the Pirates. The Hokies have won 20 consecutive games in its holiday tournament and 31 consecutive home games in the month of December - a mark that dates back to the 1999-2000 season.

Maryland and Virginia Tech open ACC action on Thursday as the Terrapins travel to face Wake Forest, while the Hokies host Boston College at 5:30 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum.
