GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference will debut the 25th Anniversary of the Women's Basketball Tournament Traveling Pictorial Exhibit at Prime Outlets in Morrisville, N.C., announced today by ACC Commissioner John Swofford.
Spearheading the project over the last eight months is ACC Associate Commissioner Bernadette McGlade. "This pictorial exhibit is the compilation of the first 24 years of the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament. It is a tremendous example of how the tournament was started and has prospered over the years. This league is exceptionally rich in its history and tradition of women's basketball which is evident in this larger than life pictorial." In addition to all the photos, "the players" wall lists all 940 individuals that have been a part of an ACC Women's Basketball Tournament. The display also captures each school's most memorable tournament game as well as the first announcement of the Silver Anniversary Team. The exhibit is open to the public at no charge and will be located at Prime Outlets in Morrisville, N.C., from December 13-20. The pictorial will then travel to Philips Arena in Atlanta, Ga., from December 27-28 followed by the Talley Student Center on the campus of NC State from January 2-13. For additional dates and locations please see the traveling schedule listed below. The ACC Women's Basketball Tournament is the oldest women's conference tournament in the country and will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary March 1-4, 2002, at the Greensboro Coliseum.
