In 2008, the Tournament set an overall attendance record of 72,114 and welcomed an all-time single-session record of 12,969 fans, including more than 10,000 enthusiastic students, representing over 40 Guilford County schools and nine surrounding counties to the event.
The ACC currently features four of the top 15 women's basketball teams in the country, including two of the top 10 in No. 2 North Carolina and No. 10 Maryland. North Carolina, which is currently unbeaten and riding an eight-game win streak to open the season, will vie for its fifth consecutive ACC Tournament crown.
