The UNC women's basketball team spent a recent Saturday morning conducting youth clinics for the Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation department. Organized by senior guard Nikki Teasley, the 90-minute clinics-one for girls and one for boys-focused on fundamentals of ball-handing, shooting and post play and wrapped up with full court games pitting the Carolina team against all of the participants. "Our main goal is for the kids to have fun," Teasley says, "but they're learning, too. It's also a good opportunity for our team to interact with the kids and be positive role models."

Both teams wait for the rebound during the game that wrapped up the girls’ session.

Who better to teach ball-handling skills? Coretta Brown (left) led the ACC in assists last year and Nikki Teasley (right) was at the top in the two seasons before that. Also working the ball-handing station was freshman Kenya McBee.
