Chasity Melvin is back

July 25, 2001

Following a two-week stay on the injured list, WNBA All-Star forward Chasity Melvin has been re-activated by the Cleveland Rockers. The former NC State star was forced to miss five games due to an injury to her right eye.

Melvin, who was selected as a reserve for the Eastern Conference, was also sidelined during the WNBA All-Star Game.

Averaging a team-high 6.7 rebounds and 11.4 points per game, Melvin is one of the big reasons why Cleveland has become one of the league's surprise teams this season. The Rockers extended their current winning streak to seven straight with a 52-48 victory over Miami on Wednesday afternoon.
