GREENSBORO, N.C. - Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford comments on the NCAA announcement that the Greensboro Coliseum was selected as the site for the 2007 and 2008 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Regionals.
"The ACC is certainly excited to have the opportunity to bring the 2007 and 2008 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Regionals to our home city of Greensboro. This community has a rich tradition of hosting very successful NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments and can expect nothing less in 2007 and 2008. The Greensboro Coliseum is an exceptional venue with a tremendous staff which deserves to showcase its constant commitment to college basketball. With the continued support from the Greensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau, the city of Greensboro, the Greensboro Sports Council, Greensboro Sports Commission and the volunteer Tournament Host Committee, there is no question that March madness will continue to be on display in Greensboro."
