SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The USA U19 women's basketball team captured the gold medal at the 2005 International Sports Invitational, held at San Diego State University, late Saturday with a 73-57 win over Russia.

The squad, coached by Duke's Gail Goestenkors, finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record. Australia beat out China, 83-61, for the bronze.

Virginia sophomore point guard Sharneé Zoll (Marlboro, N.J.) contributed three steals, two points, and two rebounds in 18 minutes of action.

Following the International Sports Invitational, the USA roster will be reduced to the official 12-woman roster for the USA Women's U19 World Championship team. The U.S. team will then train on June 28-July 2 in Colorado Springs, Colo., and on July 3-6 in Washington, D.C., before playing two exhibition games in Hungary. The FIBA U19 World Championship is slated for July 15-24 in Tunis, Tunisia.
