ATHENS, Greece - NC State lost a close battle to the Greek National Team, 66-65 on Friday, May 28. The Pack led nearly the entire game, but fell in the final seconds. For the third-straight game, sophomore Ashley Key led NC State in scoring with her 12 points. Junior Rachel Stockdale added 11, which included a game-high three, three-pointers.

The Wolfpack broke out to an early lead that stretched to as many as 11 by the third quarter. After the Greek National Team took the lead late in the first quarter, but the Pack gathered itself to relinquish its own lead. Senior Kendra Bell hit a three-pointer with 22 seconds to go in the first for a 25-20 NC State heading into the second quarter.

After the lights went out in the gym for three minutes, during which time the two teams played without a scoreboard, shot clock and lights, NC State built up its lead to 11. Sparked by a three-pointer from Key with one minute to go before the half, the Pack held on for the edge, 38-30.

NC State led until the final two minutes of the game, when the score teetered back and forth before finally settling into Greece's favor. Despite a seven-point stretch from Key midway through the fourth, an NC State foul led to a three-point play for the National Team and pushed them to the win.

The Pack will face the same team again on Sunday, May 30, at 7 p.m.
