CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Virginia point guard Renee Robinson was drafted by the Indiana Fever in the fourth round (58th overall) of the WNBA draft and then traded to three-time league champion Houston following the draft. Indiana traded Robinson and Latina Davis (Tennessee '96) to the Comets for Latavia Coleman (Florida State '00).

Robinson concluded her senior season at Virginia by averaging 9.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game and led Virginia to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. She was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team and to the ACC All-Conference Second Team this past season.

She is the fifth Cavalier to be selected in the WNBA draft. Wendy Palmer was selected in the elite draft in 1997, Tammi Reiss and Tora Suber was selected in the first round in 1997 and Dawn Staley was selected in the first round in 1999 after playing two years in the ABL.
