Cavaliers Sign Two Post Players

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Two post players have signed national letters of intent to play basketball at the University of Virginia next year. Brandi Teamer, a 6-2 forward, and Joanna Kemp, a 6-3 forward, will both play for the Cavaliers next year. Teamer is from Chicago, Ill., but is attending high school at the Berkshire School in Miami, Fla. She is listed as the nation's No. 48 recruit in the Class of 2000 by the All Star Girls Report. Kemp, from Krum, Tex. is listed at No. 139 among prep seniors by ASGR. With the addition of these two players, Virginia has now signed six players for the next year's freshman class. Virginia returns three starters and eight letterwinners from the 1999-2000 team which finished with a 25-9 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen. The Cavaliers, who were unranked for the first half of the year, ended the season ranked 14th in the final USA Today poll.
