SAN JOSE, Calif. - University of Virginia senior DeMya Walker was named the Most Valuable Player of the Women's Basketball Association All-Star Challenge in San Jose, Calif. Walker scored 11 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for the West All-Stars who defeated the East All-Stars 70-44. The game was part of the NCAA Final Four festivities and was played at the Event Center at San Jose State University.

The game featured the top seniors in the country including Chamique Holdsclaw (Tennessee), Kellie Jolly (Tennessee), Becky Hammon (Colorado State), Dominique Canty (Alabama) and Mery Andrade (Old Dominion).

Tamika Whitemore (Memphis) led the West team with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Amy Herrig (Iowa) led the East with 15 points.

Virginia's Monick Foote played 15 minutes for the East All-Stars and did not score. Other ACC players who participated were Itoro Umoh (Clemson,) Amy Geren (Clemson) and Chanel Wright (North Carolina).
