GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina's Jessica Breland earned the league's first-ever ACC Sixth Player of the Year honor, announced by ACC Commissioner John Swofford today. The ACC Sixth Player of the Year accolade is nominated and selected by a vote of the league's 12 ACC women's basketball head coaches.

Breland, a sophomore from Kelford, N.C., has recorded 65 blocked shots off the bench this season, ranking the six-foot-three forward number four in the league. In just three starts in 29 games played, Breland has notched four double-double performances and 18 double-figure scoring appearances.

The 31st annual ACC Women's Basketball Tournament will take place at the Greensboro Coliseum, beginning on Thursday, March 6 and will conclude on Sunday, March 9 with the championship contest slated for 1 p.m. ET.
