Pairings Announced for the 32nd Annual ACC Women's Basketball Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Maryland clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will begin Thursday, March 5, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. The Terrapins look to end North Carolina’s four-year ACC title streak in what will be the 10th Anniversary in Greensboro.

The 32nd Annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to tip-off at approximately 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 5, and will conclude with a 1 p.m. championship contest on Sunday, March 8. The title game as well as the semifinals showings will be broadcast by Fox Sports Net (FSN), while the 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. games on Thursday, March 5, and Friday, March 6, will be televised on the league’s regional package (RSN).

The Terps have played in 11 of the 32-year tournament’s title games, taking home eight ACC crowns. The last year that Maryland won the four-day event was in 1989, when the Tournament was held in Fayetteville, N.C.
