![]() Pairings Announced for the 29th Annual ACC Women's Basketball Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. The North Carolina Tar Heels claimed the No. 1 seed in this weekend's 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Tournament which will begin Thursday, March 2, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. This year's tournament is set to tip-off on Thursday, March 2 and will end with the championship game on Sunday, March 5. This marks the second-straight season that the Tar Heels have claimed the top seed. The ACC Women's Basketball Tournament will feature one additional game on Thursday as Boston College competes in its first ACC Women's Basketball Tournament. The Clemson Lady Tigers, seeded 12th, will face fifth seed NC State on Thursday, Mar. 2 at 4:00 PM. NC State edged the Lady Tigers in the match-up earlier this season, claiming a 78-69 decision on Feb. 16 in Clemson, SC. The winner will then face the number four seed Florida State at 4:00 PM on Friday in a televised game. Thursday:
