GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Kristi Toliver and Georgia Tech's Sasha Goodlett were named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 8. Toliver led the 11th-ranked Terrapins to a 2-0 week, including wins over No. 15 Florida State and visiting NC State, while Goodlett helped her Yellow Jackets improve to 17-6 overall in a 1-1 week.

Toliver averaged 15 points, 5.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in a pair of Terrapin wins last week. On Feb. 2, the senior guard took an inbounds pass with her Terps down two points and only 4.9 seconds on the clock, and dribbled to the 3-point line where she buried a trey at the buzzer to give the Terps a thrilling 72-71 win at previously ACC unbeaten Florida State. The play eventually claimed the No. 2 spot on ESPN's Top Plays of the Day. Toliver registered 15 points and seven assists in Tallahassee and followed that performance with a team-high 15-point, 4-assist outing in defeating NC State, 87-66. The native of Harrisonburg, Va., went 8-for-12 from 3-point range on the week, leaving her just four 3-pointers shy from the fourth most made in ACC history.

Goodlett averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds last week for Georgia Tech. The rookie from Bolton, Miss., has scored in double-figures in four straight games for the Jackets. She tallied a career-high 15 points and dominated the offensive glass at Wake Forest on Feb. 3, and then followed up that performance with a new personal-high of 20 points against visiting NC State. The center's eight rebounds against the Wolfpack tied her career-best. Goodlett also shot an impressive 55.2 percent from the field during the week. She has now started 21 of Tech's 23 games as a rookie.

The weekly honor marks the first accolade of the season for both Toliver and Goodlett.

ACC action resumes action later today as 4th-ranked Duke travels to nearby and arch-rival No. 9 North Carolina, while unranked Boston College welcomes 11th-ranked Maryland in Boston. Both games are slated for television as the contest in Boston is scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET tip on the league's regional sports package and the Triad match-up will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
