Kerri Shields hit four 3-pointers in the loss to Georgia Tech, her fourth game this season with at least four from beyond the arc...Kristen Doherty tallied 17 points in the loss to NC State, her seventh double digit scoring game...Doherty tied a career-high with 24 points in a 72-58 loss at Wake Forest...The Eagles dropped their ACC opener, coming up just short in a comeback attempt and falling 38-35 to Virginia Tech...Kerri Shields hit four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points to lead the Eagles to a 57-49 win over CCSU...Katie Zenevitch and Tiffany Ruffin scored 17 points apiece to lead the Eagles to a 67-58 win over Holy Cross...Tiffany Ruffin and Shayra Brown each scored 18 points to lead the Eagles to an 80-64 win over UMass.
Clemson ended a 53-game losing streak against ranked teams, winning at No. 21 UNC 52 47...The Tigers fell to Virginia, 54-47, despite holding the Cavs to .286 shooting...Four Clemson post players finished in double figures, but the Tigers fell to Florida State 59-47..Freshman guard Kelly Gramlich was named the ACC Rookie of the Week on Dec. 19... The Tigers hit 11 3 pointers to tie a school mark in a 68-48 victory over North Carolina Central...The 24 free throws made against Charleston Southern is the most made by a Clemson team since Nov. 21, 2003...Clemson held S.C. State to a .185 shooting percentage, the lowest by an opponent at Clemson in school history and third lowest overall.
Duke won its 34th straight over Georgia Tech on Wednesday...The win over Virginia Tech was the 50th career victory for Coach McCallie in just 61 games, the second fastest in conference history to that mark...Duke’s win over Florida State was the 33rd straight victory at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the Blue Devils...Led by Richa Jackon’s career-high 21 points, five players reached double figures as Duke defeated NC State 83-59...Duke picked up a 76-58 win at Wake Forest, led by Elizabeth Williams’ 18 points, 16 rebounds, and a conference-record 12 blocks...Chelsea Gray tallied the fourth triple-double in Duke history with 14 points, a school-record 13 assists, and 11 rebounds in a 92-43 win over Pittsburgh... Elizabeth Williams has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week five times this season.
Natasha Howard posted 22 points and a career-high 17 boards in the last-minute loss to No. 11 Miami...The Seminoles shot 51.9 percent from the field in the loss at Duke, the highest of any opponent against the Blue Devils this season...Florida State rode a 30-4 start to a 75-40 win at Virginia Tech...The Seminoles defeated Clemson for the seventh straight time, winning 59-47...Alexa Deluzio tied a career-high with 23 points but the Seminoles fell to No. 5 Maryland...Florida State closed out the nonconference schedule with a 60-47 victory over UCF... The Hokies held Duke to 42% shooting, the fourth lowest mark for the Blue Devils this season....Alyssa Fenyn knocked down a late three pointer to give the Hokies a 38-35 win over Boston College...Virginia Tech defeated Clemson on the road, 55-33, in the ACC debut for coach Dennis Wolff...The Hokies closed out the nonconference schedule with a 57-52 win over UMBC, led by Monet Tellier’s 18 points...The Hokies rode a 21-2 run late in the first half to a 70-52 win over NC Central...Monet Tellier scored a career-high 31 points in the loss to William & Mary...Tellier opened the season with 20 points in the first half of the first game against Old Dominion, and finished with 29 total...Led by first-year head coach Dennis Wolff, Virginia Tech returns two starters and eight letter winners from last year’s 11-19 squad.
Wake Forest held a 30-7 margin in bench scoring but fell, 75-66, to NC State...Wake improved to 11-4 and 1-1 with a 72-58 win over Boston College...Junior center Sandra Garcia had 22 points to lead Wake Forest to a 68-66 win over Davidson...Mykala Walker notched new career highs with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Wake to a 65-53 win over SMU... Wake Forest picked up a 90-67 win over Radford, led by Lindsy Wright’s career-high 18 points...Wake Forest opened on a 20-0 run and defeated Minnesota 82-65, marking the 110th win for head coach Mike Peterson, making him the winningest coach in school history...The Demon Deacons started the season with a six-game homestand, and had 13 of their first 15 games in Winston-Salem.
