Duke Women Find Joel Coliseum To Be Home Away From Home

(AP) - After posting another lopsided victory, No. 13 Duke will try to stay perfect in conference play this season and maintain its dominance over Wake Forest when the two teams collide on Monday at the Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. Duke (12-4, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) has won 11 straight games from Wake Forest (6-8, 2-2) and leads the all-time series, 28-19. On Thursday, Georgia Schweitzer and Michele VanGorp each scored 17 points to lead six players in double figures as Duke crushed Georgia Tech, 113-46. The 67-point margin of victory was Duke's second-largest this season. The Blue Devils ripped Temple, 112-34, on Dec. 12. Since losing to Tennessee on Dec. 6, Duke has won seven in a row by an average of nearly 43 points per game. In the rout, senior point guard Hilary Howard became Dukes all-time assist leader. Howard had seven assists, giving her 346 for her career and moving her past Kira Orr, who had 345 from 1994-97. Wake Forest is also coming off a victory over Georgia Tech on Monday. The freshman duo of LaChina Robinson and Val Klopfer set career-highs with 22 and 18 points respectively to lead the Lady Deacons past the Yellow Jackets, 77-72.
Wake Forest is 0-7 all time against Duke at Lawrence Joel.
