Lady Tigers Battle Back to Defeat Spartans Clemson, SC - After falling behind at halftime, the Lady Tigers used inside scoring to pull away from the USC Upstate Spartans en route to a 78-65 victory on Tuesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Tigers move to 7-4 on the season, while the Spartans fall to 5-3. The Tigers were able to finish the night shooting 43.7% and were led by Shaniqua Pauldo, who finished the game with a team-high 14 points, and the rebounding of Jasmine Tate, who finished with 10 boards, including seven on the offensive end. Pauldo tied a career-high with nine rebounds, falling a board short of her first career double-double. Tate played 25 minutes off the bench, netting seven points to go with her ten rebounds. She also finished with two blocks and two steals defensively. No. 2 Stanford Holds Off No. 7 Duke, 71-55 STANFORD, Calif. - Kayla Pedersen had 22 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots and No. 2 Stanford extended its winning streak at Maples Pavilion to 34 games with a hard-fought 71-55 victory over No. 7 Duke on Tuesday night. Nnemkadi Ogwumike added 18 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinal (8-0) but took the brunt of hits inside in a physical game more resembling an NCAA tournament matchup than a mid-December contest. Reserve JJ Hones added 12 points, scoring six straight during one span late. Next up for the Cardinal: a home date with No. 3 Tennessee on Saturday. Then, Stanford plays top-ranked Connecticut at Hartford on Dec. 23.
