Boston College Loses to Northwestern, 67-63

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior forward Katie Zenevitch went a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line on the way to a career-high 22 points, but Boston College lost to Northwestern, 67-63, in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night in Conte Forum.

The Eagles outshot the Wildcats from the field 45.8 to 38.2 percent and outscored NU 22-16 in the paint in the loss. BC committed 22 turnovers to NU's 12.

Senior guard Kerri Shields scored 11 points including a 3-of-8 effort on three-point shots, and freshman guard Nicole Boudreau recorded 10 points. Zenevitch grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to go with her second game of the season with 20 or more points.



Lady Tigers Can't Hang On at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Clemson held an eight-point second half lead, but went cold for an eight-minute stretch of the second half, as Indiana came back to beat the Lady Tigers, 52-49 in Assembly Hall in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Nikki Dixon had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Danaejah Grant added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.

Clemson fell to 2-4 all-time in the Challenge, and had this one slip away late after leading at the half for the first time this season. The Tigers exercised strong ball control, committing just 13 turnovers in the game while forcing 16, and converting that for 12 points. Clemson did score 22 points in the paint and 12 second chance points, but the offense stalled midway through the second half, sending Indiana on a 10-0 run.



Gray, Williams Lead No. 4 Duke Past Michigan 71-54

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Chelsea Gray and Elizabeth Williams scored 19 points each to lead No. 4 Duke to a 71-54 victory over Michigan on Wednesday night in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.

Alexis Jones added nine points for the Blue Devils, who did not have at least three double-digit scorers for the first time this season.

Jenny Ryan tied a career high with 18 points and Kate Thompson added 10 for Michigan. Leading scorer Rachel Sheffer was held scoreless for the first 16 minutes and finished with eight points.

The Wolverines used a 15-1 run over the last 6:41 of the first half to pull within three points at the break, but Duke pulled away in the second half.



Florida State Defeats Iowa, 83-69

TALLAHASSE, Fla. - Florida State women's basketball head coach Sue Semrau called senior guard Leonor Rodriguez the Seminoles' MVP so far this season following FSU's 5-0 start.
The Canary Islands, Spain star proved just how valuable she is on Wednesday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center, carrying Florida State past Iowa, 83-69, in this season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup.

Rodriguez, the reigning ACC Player of the Week, scored a career-best 28 points on 11-of-15 field goals, including 4-of-6 from three. Her 11 field goals, four treys in 39 minutes are all career bests.

Yellow Jackets Fall 85-73 At Purdue In ACC/Big Ten Challenge

WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. - The Georgia Tech women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought 85-73 battle to No. 14/13 Purdue Wednesday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.

It is the first loss for the Yellow Jackets in the Challenge. Tech is now 5-1 in ACC/Big Ten Challenge games.

Junior Tyaunna Marshall led Georgia Tech with 26 points, her 59th career double digit scoring game and her 15th career game with at least 20 points. Marshall added five rebounds and four assists. Junior Dawnn Maye finished with 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Senior Jasmine Blain tallied 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Heels Outlast No. 15 Ohio State, 57-54

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - With No. 22 North Carolina trailing No. 15 Ohio State by one late in regulation, Tierra Ruffin-Pratt took the ball from OSU's Darryce Moore and went the distance for a go-ahead layup with just 41 seconds to go

Then she did it again.

Ruffin-Pratt scored four of her 11 points in the final minute -- including a stolen in-bounds pass and layup with 27 seconds remaining -- to help UNC past Ohio State, 57-54, Wednesday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.



Hokies down Wisconsin, 47-38

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Finishing one rebound shy of her first double-double of the season in her last game, Monet Tellier decided to try for the feat another way. However, this time she finished one assist shy, ending the night with a team-high 17 points and a career-high nine assists as the Hokies defeated visiting Wisconsin, 47-38, in Cassell Coliseum Wednesday night as part of the 2012 ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Tellier attributed to all but 10 of Tech's points in the win, while adding a team-high six rebounds and three assists to her totals.
