Hemingway's Double-Double Leads Tech Past Georgia State, 74-56

ATLANTA - Iasia Hemingway recorded her first career double-double to help the Georgia Tech women's basketball team to a 74-56 win over Georgia State (1-1) Wednesday at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

Hemingway finished with 21 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (4-1). Senior Jacqua Williams scored 15 points and registered four steals, while junior Brigitte Ardossi added 10 points and six boards.

Maryland's Women's Basketball Opens Caribbean Challenge with 68-56 Victory Over SDSU

CANCUN, Mexico - On a road trip that could easily be mistaken for a winter vacation, the Maryland women's basketball team reminded everyone that they were on a business trip on Wednesday, as the Terrapins dominated the second half en route to a 68-56 victory over South Dakota State at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico, tipping off the Cancun Caribbean Challenge. Four Terps scored in double figures, led by senior Kristi Toliver's 16.

Senior Marissa Coleman, junior Demauria Liles and freshman Lynetta Kizer added 15 each.

Deacons Stop Charlotte Rally to Take 75-67 Win

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Charlotte sliced Wake Forest's 18 point lead in the second half to a single possession advantage in the final 30 seconds, but four key free throws from Alex Tchangoue kept the Deacons in front with a final score of 75-67.

Senior Corinne Groves netted 20 points, her highest mark of the season, to lead the Deacons in scoring. Charlotte's Aysha Jones had the game-high of 29 points. 49er Danielle Burgin was the leading rebounder with 12 grabs. Wake Forest's Brittany Waters and Secily Ray had each had seven rebounds for the Demon Deacons.
