Clemson Defeats South Carolina 52-45 COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Lele Hardy had 17 points and nine rebounds to help Clemson spoil the home coaching debut of South Carolina's Dawn Staley with a 52-45 victory on Wednesday night. Hardy also had seven steals to give the Lady Tigers (2-1) their first victory over rival South Carolina (0-2) in four seasons. Tech Runs Away From Kennesaw State, 77-49 ATLANTA - Sophomore Iasia Hemingway scored 13 of her 16 points in the second half to lead the Georgia Tech women's basketball team to a 77-49 win over Kennesaw State at Alexander Memorial Coliseum Wednesday evening. Hemingway was one of four Yellow Jackets (2-1) to score in double figures against the Owls. Sophomore Alex Montgomery finished with a team-high 17 points and senior Jacqua Williams added 10 points, six steals and five assists in the win. Freshman Sasha Goodlett scored 13 points and swatted two shots. No. 4 Tar Heels Win Battle Against No. 23 Xavier 73-67 CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- With her team struggling at home to a ranked opponent, Rashanda McCants took over. McCants scored 20 of her 27 points in the second half to help No. 4 North Carolina to a 73-67 win against No. 23 Xavier Wednesday night in the women's Preseason NIT.
