    UPSET – No. 15 UVa Women Stun No. 6 Tennessee

    Knoxville, TN - The 15th-ranked Virginia women's basketball team stunned No. 6 Tennessee 83-82 in Knoxville before a crowd of 11,627 to improve to 2-0. Virginia was led by Monica Wright's career-high 35 points and eight rebounds. Aisha Mohammed, who hit eight of 10 shots from the field, added 19 points and seven rebounds for the Cavaliers.

    UVa's Britnee Millner converted a free throw with 6.4 seconds left to give the Cavaliers the win.

    Tar Heel Women Cruise to Victory, 102-68

    CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Jessica Breland scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead No. 4 North Carolina past Kennesaw State 102-68 on Monday night.

    Italee Lucas added 16 points for the Tar Heels (3-0), who showed no signs of fatigue while playing their second game in as many days. North Carolina, which defeated Virginia Commonwealth 77-65 on Sunday, used a 14-0 run against Kennesaw State to take a 30-11 lead with 10:43 remaining in the first half.

    WFU Stops UNCG 62-27 in Season Opener

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team held UNC Greensboro to just 13 points in the first half en route to its 62-27 win on Monday evening in Winston-Salem.

    Wake Forest's (1-0) Alex Tchangoue and Camille Collier each netted a game-high high 12 points and Demon Deacon rookie Secily Ray was the game leader in rebounds, pulling 11 boards. Agneta Morkunaite led the Spartans (0-2) in scoring and rebounding with eight points and seven boards.
