Florida State Head Coach Sue Semrau:
"Obviously we're excited to be the team that's in here first. Virginia played a great, great basketball game. I know getting into foul trouble like (Schuye) LaRue did in the first half was a big key for us. (Dean'na) Mitchelson getting three fouls in the first half was a key for us. I thought our post players did a great job of taking that role on and trying to attack them in the second half ... Brooke (Wyckoff), Katelyn (Vujas), Levys (Torres), Lako Brown - an amazing game by our senior tonight. I'm very excited we were able to pull out this game."

Florida State Forward Brooke Wyckoff:
"We were very excited to play this game. It's not very often that you get to play a team in your regular-season game and then turn right around and play them again in the first round of the tournament. We looked at it as an advantage as far as preparing because we just played them. They were fresh on our minds, the loss was fresh in our minds. They're a tough team to guard. They have a great inside game. They have a great outside game. We just pulled together and played Seminole basketball and fortunately came out on top.

Florida State Forward Katelyn Vujas:
"Like Brooke said, coming off that loss we were really focused in the last week's practice and at shoot-around today. I think we were really focused and ready for this game and knew how to defend and knew how to get around their defense. I think we did a great job."

Virginia Head Coach Debbie Ryan:
"We came out and had a fairly good start. We built three 10-point leads and just squandered them away each time. You have to give Florida State credit for hanging around because they hung around and hung around and hung around and at that four-minute or three-minute mark they had a surge that was too difficult to overcome."

On Schuye LaRue's foul trouble:
"We should be able to handle it when she's on the bench. She really wasn't out that long, but the stretches she was out did hurt us. We turned the ball over too much, and we fouled too much."

"It was Brooke Wyckoff that took the game over, and we didn't have anybody step up and take Brooke out of the game. ... Wyckoff hit that three when the shot clock was all the way down, and it wasn't like we weren't there. That kind of broke our backs."

On prospects for the NCAA Tournament:
"We'll practice and everything. We do have a very high RPI, and I know that's going to factor in quite a bit because it has in the past."

Virginia forward Schuye LaRue:
"I thought we fouled too much, and they basically won the game on the foul line.

(On playing with four fouls:)
"You just have to watch yourself, try not to reach and go over someone's back."

Virginia's forward Svetlana Volnaya:
(On LaRue picking up her fourth foul with 7:48 left): "Maybe we felt like we need her on the court more and probably had a couple of turnovers at that point. She's a leader."
