Greensboro, N.C. - Senior Telisha Quarles (Louisa, Va.) made the biggest lay-up of her career on Saturday to give No. 4 Virginia a 60-58 win over No. 5 seed Georgia Tech in the quartefinal round of the 2002 ACC Women's Basketball Tournament in Greensboro, N.C. The Cavaliers (17-11) advance to Sunday's 1 p.m. semifinal against No. 1 seed Duke (25-3). Fox Sports Net will televise the game nationally. Charlottesville's WINA Radio will broadcast the game live. "We were very fortunate to win this game," said UVa head coach Debbie Ryan. "Obviously the last pass was a key. It was a great effort by my team. They played with a lot of heart. And that's what my team is all about." Quarles paced Virginia with a game-hgi 20 points. Freshman Brandi Teamer (Joliet, Ill.) added 10 points. Junior Liz Sahin (Hatay, Turkey) came off the bench for a career-best 10 points.
