Feb. 15, 2012 Liston Nets 17 as No. 5 Duke Overcomes Va. Tech, 67-45 DURHAM, N.C. - Tricia Liston scored 17 points to help No. 5 Duke beatVirginia Tech 67-45 on Wednesday night. Chelsea Gray added 15 points as the Blue Devils (22-3) improved to 13-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play for the fifth time in program history. Liston made two 3-pointers and a steal during a 14-2 run in the second half as Duke pulled away for its 29th consecutive home win against conference foes.
North Carolina Hangs On To Beat Florida State, 71-66
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Laura Broomfield had 17 points to lead four Tar Heels in double figures and North Carolina snapped a three-game losing streak with a 71-66 win over Florida State Wednesday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center. North Carolina (18-8, 8-5 Atlantic Coast Conference) led by 13 at halftime and by as many as 14 in the second half before holding on for the key league victory. She'la White scored all 12 of her points in a first half that saw the Tar Heels shoot 49 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the three-point line. Chay Shegog, who fouled out with 1:42 to play, finished with 15, while Krista Gross had 10.
