Georgia Tech Tames Lady Tigers, 82-28

Janie Mitchell notched her 15th career double-double as the Georgia Tech women's basketball team (19-6, 5-5 ACC) defeated visiting Savannah State (12-13), 82-28, Tuesday night at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

Every Yellow Jacket scored in the game including four players who finished in double figures. Tech grabbed 49 rebounds and forced the Lady Tigers into 30 turnovers as it held Savannah State to the fewest points allowed in school history.

The Jackets opened a 39-16 advantage at the half with a 20-4 run and never looked back. The second half was more of the same as Tech opened with a 14-2 run over the first eight minutes. The Jackets held Savannah State to only 25 percent shooting from the field and finished with 16 steals on the night.

Mitchell scored 14 points and grabbed 10 boards and Iasia Hemingway finished with 13 points. Tech's Chioma Nnamaka and Brigitte Ardossi each added 10 points apiece in the win.

The Lady Tigers were led by Antoinette Williams, who scored 10 points. Patrice Robinson finished with a game-high four blocks.
