No. 13/11 Maryland Women Hold Off Boston College Marissa Coleman added 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists as Maryland (19-4, 7-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) won its third straight game. Corey Rusin scored 21, Carolyn Swords added 19, and Jaclyn Thoman had 13 points and 10 assists for Boston College (17-7, 5-4 ACC). The Eagles, who hadn't lost consecutive games all season, have now dropped three in a row--all of them to ranked teams. Boston College trailed 76-73, with the ball and just under three minutes left, when Mickel Picco pulled up for a foul line jumper that could have made it a one-point game. The shot hit the rim, Demauria Liles grabbed the rebound and at the other end took the feed under the basket for a layup that made it 78-73.
No. 8 North Carolina Defeats No. 4 Duke, 75-60 Jessica Breland added 14 points and a career-high 23 rebounds for the Tar Heels (21-3, 6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who rallied from a 12-point first-half deficit to win their fourth straight in the series. North Carolina shot 64 percent after halftime and pushed ahead for good midway through the second half. The Tar Heels also took a 54-38 rebounding advantage against the Blue Devils (19-3, 7-2), who shot just 30 percent for the game. North Carolina has won nine of the past 11 meetings after losing 12 straight in the series from 2000-04. Chante Black scored 13 points to lead Duke.
