Lady Tigers Roar Past FSU With 20-0 Run
January 7, 1999 CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Itoro Umoh had 15 points, 11 assists and six steals, and No. 12 Clemson used a 20-0 second-half run Thursday night in a 77-55 rout that kept Florida State winless in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson (12-2, 3-2) trailed by three points at halftime. But the run, led by Amy Geren with two of her three 3-pointers, gave the Tigers a 45-28 lead over the Seminoles (5-9, 0-5). Florida State cut the lead to 54-41 with 8:09 left, but got no closer. Though the teams' shooting was nearly even at about 37 percent, Clemson took 31 more shots. The Lady Tigers also forced 29 turnovers and committed just 13. And Clemson grabbed 26 offensive rebounds to the Seminoles' 10. Natasha Anderson added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Clemson, which also got 11 points from Geren.
April Traylor paced Florida State with 20 points, but also had 10 turnovers.
Brooke Wyckoff had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
