• Elizabeth Williams and Chelsea Gray were part of a three-way tie for ACC Coaches Preseason Player of the Year
• Duke Freshman Alexis Jones ranks No. 3 according to ESPN's HoopGurlz's analysis of incoming recruiting classes
• Last year, Duke's Elizabeth Williams became the first league freshman to be named ACC Defensive Player of the Year and only the third freshman to be voted to First Team All-ACC , following a season where she notched a freshman record 116 blocked shots and ranked fourth nationally with a 3.5 per game average.
• Duke has been preseason ranked No. 3 nationally in the Lindy's Magazine Collegiate Basketball Preview issue.
• The Blue Devils return four starters, 10 letterwinners and 88.7 percent of their scoring from a year ago, which is the third-highest among top 25 teams in the final 2011-12 AP poll.
• Duke welcomes back its top six scorer's from a year ago -- Elizabeth Williams (14.0), Chelsea Gray (12.5), Tricia Liston (12.0), Haley Peters (10.8), Chloe Wells (9.4) and Richa Jackson (9.4).
• The Blue Devils feature the No. 7 ranked recruiting class in the nation to the roster this season with the addition of Alexis Jones (Irving, Texas), Sierra Moore (Hanover, Pa.) and Katie Heckman (Centennial, Colo.) Jones and Moore were McDonald's All-America selections last season.
• Head coach Joanne P. McCallie enters her sixth season with the Blue Devils, after collecting a 141-32 mark the first five years at Duke. McCallie has led the Blue Devils to three straight ACC regular season crowns and the 2010 and 2011 ACC Tournament titles. She was the 2010 and 2012 ACC Coach of the Year. Known as Coach P around the nation, she collected a 457-180 overall record in 20 years as a head coach.
• Duke features a 30-game home winning streak against ACC opponents in Cameron Indoor Stadium entering the 2012-13 season.
• The Blue Devils will host the NCAA first and second rounds on March 24 & 26, 2013 in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke owns a 16-game winning streak at home in NCAA Tournament contests.

Joanne P. McCallie, Duke Head Coach

Joanne P. McCallie enters her sixth year as the head coach of the Duke women's basketball program...Duke collected a 27-6 record in 2011-12, won the ACC Regular Season title with a 15-1 league mark, and reached the Elite Eight for the third straight season before losing to Stanford ... In 2010-11, Duke finished with a 32-4 record, won the ACC Tournament and finished as Regular Season Co-Champions, and reached the Elite Eight for the second straight year before losing to Connecticut… The Blue Devils went 30-6 in 2009-10, clinching the ACC Tournament title and reaching the NCAA Elite Eight before falling to eventual National Semifinalist Baylor…McCallie, who became the fourth head coach for the Blue Devils, guided the squad to a 25-10 mark in 2007-08 and an NCAA "Sweet 16" appearance and followed that with a third place ACC finish with marks of 27-6 overall and 11-3 in conference play...Prior to 2007-08, McCallie spent seven seasons at Michigan State, leading the Spartans to a 149-75 mark, five straight NCAA Tournament appearances, four consecutive 20-win seasons and an appearance in the NCAA Championship game in 2005...McCallie owns a career mark of 430-174 during her 19-year stint as a head coach...McCallie guided MSU to its best season in school history in 2004-05 as the Spartans advanced to the national title game, won a school-record 33 games, won a school-record 14 Big Ten games, while sharing their second Big Ten regular-season championship, won their first Big Ten Tournament title, finished 13-0 at home, had a school-record 17- game winning streak and beat 13 nationally-ranked teams, including four teams ranked No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3...McCallie was then named National Coach of the Year by the Associated Press, Basketball Times, and Nike, as well as being voted Big Ten Coach of the Year...She was also selected the 2005 Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan College Coach of the Year...Prior to her Duke experience, McCallie guided the 2007 FIBA U-21 World Championship team, which included three ACC student-athletes, to a 96-73 gold medal victory in Moscow, Russia...Over the 2006 summer, McCallie guided the USA Basketball U-20 team to a 5-0 record and a gold medal in the FIBA Americas Championships in Mexico City...The squad outscored its opponents by 62 points per game and set 28 U-20 records in the event...During her eight-year stint at Maine, McCallie guided the Black Bears to seven straight 20-win campaigns, including a 20-11 overall record in 1999-2000 and their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance...The former Joanne Palombo played basketball at Northwestern from 1984-87 and still ranks seventh in Wildcat history with 378 career assists...McCallie graduated from Northwestern in 1987 with a degree in political science and earned a master's degree in business administration from Auburn in 1990.
