GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland junior Mike Letts has been named ACC Wrestler of the Week after a stellar showing in last weekend's Wolfpack Open at NC State.

Competing at 174 pounds, Letts posted five victories, including two by fall, one by technical fall and one by major decision.

Letts opened the competition with a first-period pin of Campbell's Justin Sparrow (1:34). He followed up with an 11-5 win over Ohio State's T.C. Pendleton and a pin of Newberry's Brock Budesheim in 4:47.

After a 16-0 technical fall win over fellow ACC wrestler Ben Fiacco of North Carolina, Letts closed out his run with an 11-2 major decision of 19th ranked David Rella of Ohio State.

Letts entered the meet as the nation's 11th-ranked wrestler in the 174-pound division by InterMat/NWCA/NWMA.
