RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State assistant wrestling coach Jerrod Sanders will compete for a spot on the United States World Championship team this weekend at the World Team Trials, which will be held on the campus of Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa.

The winners at the World Team Trials will advance to the 2005 World Championships at Budapest, Hungary, September 25-October 2. Sanders, an All-American at 149 pounds for Oklahoma State's 2003 national championship team, earned a spot at the World Team Trials by placing an impressive seventh in the 66 kilograms (145.5 pounds) division at the U.S. Nationals a few weeks ago.
